West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s superb 3-2 win over Crystal Palace yesterday, but stopped short of heaping too much praise on his side, sharing what disappointed him about their performance, as quoted by Football.London.
The Hammers have now won three games in a row, and sit in 10th spot in the Premier League table, just five points adrift of sixth placed Manchester United.
After their woeful start to the campaign, Pellegrini and the West Ham fans must be absolutely delighted with the manner in which their team have recovered.
The east London outfit had to work hard for their win yesterday, having trailed going into the second-half.
The Chilean addressed the media after yesterday’s victory, and highlighted how poor his side were during the first-half against Palace, as quoted by Football.London:
“Today we had two different halves, we played too nervous in the first 45 minutes because we went one goal behind. But in the second half, we prepared better in the final third and scored three goals.”
Next up for West Ham is a trip to Fulham on Saturday, and Pellegrini’s men will have to be on top form if they hope to leave west London with maximum points, with the Cottagers fighting for their Premier League lives.
