The three West Ham United players haven’t had things easy this season.

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini spoke to reporters after watching his side beat Brentford 2-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly, and suggested that the match was vitally important for certain players who are lacking fitness and struggling to break into the first team, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Hammers have made a poor start to their 2018/19 campaign, but in their defence, they have suffered horrendous luck with injuries.
Manuel Pellegrini has had to make do without up to as many as nine first team stars all at one time this term, and West Ham have suffered as a consequence.
They currently sit in 13th spot in the Premier League table, having taken just 12 points from 12 league outings thus far, but Pellegrini does have some of his injured stars close to a return to action.
The Chilean spoke to reporters after last night’s friendly win over Brentford, and highlighted how important the run out was for some of his players, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“It’s a good match for the boys and particularly for the players who are maybe not playing in every game. It was a very useful game because we played well, we played with intensity and so it was all OK. For Andy Carroll, for Lucas Perez, for Angelo Ogbonna, they all put in good performances. At this moment we don’t have space for them in the [Premier League] starting XI, but they worked very hard today.”
Next up for West Ham is a huge game against Manchester City a week tomorrow, and every single one of Pellegrini’s starting XI will have to be on their very best form, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of taking anything from the game.
