West Ham confirmed the signing of Lukasz Fabianski on Wednesday.

West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has told the club’s official website that “excellent” new signing Lukasz Fabianski will provide competition for the number one spot with Adrian.
Fabianski, 33, joins the club from relegated Swansea City, signing a three-year deal with the Hammers which will keep the Poland World Cup goalkeeper at the London Stadium until the summer of 2021.

The former Arsenal man is now set to rival Spaniard Adrian for a place between the sticks, ahead of the 2018-19 campaign which begins with a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on August 11.

New manager Pellegrini stated that he believes Fabianski will provide excellent competition for Adrian, but did not state whether the 45-time international would be first choice following his arrival.
“With Lukasz, we have secured a proven Premier League goalkeeper who has great experience at this level,” Pellegrini said.
“We believe he has a number of good years ahead of him – hopefully his best – and there is no doubt that he will give us excellent competition for the number one spot.
“It is important, as a Premier League club, to have strong goalkeepers who can push each other and we have that dynamic with Lukasz and Adrian now.”

Fabianski has huge experience in the top flight of English football, clocking up 181 Premier League appearances for Arsenal and Swansea – in which he has conceded 256 goals and kept 52 clean sheets.
The Hammers desperately needed to sign a goalkeeper this summer after Joe Hart returned to Manchester City following the end of his disappointing 2017-18 loan spell.
