The West Ham United centre-back has been in excellent form this season.

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s disappointing defeat to Watford yesterday, and provided an injury update on Fabian Balbuena, after the centre-back was forced off with a knee injury during the first-half against the Hornets, as quoted by Football.London.
The Hammers’ run of four wins in a row was brought to an abrupt end by Javi Gracia’s stubborn Watford side yesterday, and Pellegrini’s men missed out on the chance to jump up to seventh in the Premier League table.
And losing Balbuena for a prolonged period of time will be a real blow for West Ham.
The Paraguayan has played a key role for the Hammers this season, and Pellegrini provided an injury update on the centre-back, when speaking to reporters yesterday, as quoted by Football.London:

“Fabian has a problem with his knee, we will see tomorrow. I cannot answer just yet what the problem is yet.”
Next up for West Ham is a trip to Southampton on Thursday night, before they travel to Burnley three days later, and Pellegrini will be praying that the 27-year-old centre-back is available for selection for what will be two crucial games for the club.
