The West Ham United manager is keen to bring in some new players next month.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini spoke to reporters after his side’s fine 2-0 win away at Fulham yesterday, and admitted that he will be looking to bolster his ranks at the London Stadium in January, as quoted by Football.London.
The Chilean shared how he will hold a meeting with the clubs owners regarding potential targets.
The Hammers have been in fine form recently, racking up four consecutive Premier League wins, and they now sit in ninth spot in the table, just two points adrift of sixth placed Manchester United.
Having lost their first four league games of the season, Pellegrini must be absolutely delighted with how his side have responded.
The 65-year-old made it quite clear that he would still like to improve his squad in January, however, when speaking to reporters, as quoted by Football.London:
“One of the merits of this team is that we play with eight players injured, now we will see in January what will happen and we will have a meeting to decide what to do. I am happy with my squad, but we must talk adding.”
With eight first-team regulars currently out injured, it could be argued that Pellegrini would like to strengthen in every area of the pitch.
Central midfield might just be his priority, however, with Jack Wilshere proving to be unreliable from a fitness perspective, and Carlos Sanchez ruled out with a long-term injury.
Another centre-forward would also not go a miss, considering the fact the Marko Arnautovic will not be back from a hamstring injury for a while.
