It seems as though West Ham United will be very active in the transfer market this summer.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and dropped his biggest hint yet that he will be extremely busy during the summer transfer window.
The Hammers have experienced a really difficult Premier League campaign this season, and they have failed to meet expectations, having spent heavily during last summer’s transfer window.
West Ham fans will be expecting their side to challenge for the European spots next season, but in order to do just that, Pellegrini will have to get his player recruitment spot on during the summer.
The Chilean spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and hinted that he will be in discussion with the club’s board soon regarding potential incomings and outgoings at the London Stadium:
“We will sit down with the sporting director and the owners and think what we must do to continue next season. My way has always been to be in contact with the sporting director, talking about different players and about different options and which is the best to bring. So, it’s not a complete holiday, but it doesn’t matter!” We need to talk, we need to see the different options and see the players who will maybe not continue with us.”
Pellegrini signed too many average players last summer, and if he is to take West Ham to another level, the east London outfit need to spend some serious cash.
Whether the board will be receptive to that idea, however, remains to be seen.
