Manuel Pellegrini comments on West Ham United’s away form

West Ham United will face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.

West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has suggested to the club’s official website that the players may not understand how hard it is to play away from home.

The Hammers recently suffered defeats to Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers away from home in the Premier League, and also lost to League One outfit AFC Wimbledon on the road in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Pellegrini told West Ham’s official website: “I was surprised because I don’t think it was the level of our team.

“Maybe we haven’t understood how difficult it is to play away games, when you must be 100 per cent concentrated on what to do.”

Worrying for West Ham United?

With the season already into February, it is worrying that West Ham players still have not appreciated how hard it is to play away from home.

The Hammers’ away record is also poor, and for the London club to finish seventh in the Premier League this season, they will have to start getting results on the road.

West Ham do have a good team, but the London club have been inconsistent, and manager Pellegrini needs to work on that as well.

The Hammers will take on London rivals Crystal Palace away from home at Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
