Manuel Pellegrini has told Football London that West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice will not be given a rest any time soon.

Rice has been a mainstay in West Ham’s side over their league campaign so far.

The youngster is playing a pivotal role in the heart of West Ham’s side.

However, one journalist questioned whether the high work-load was a worry, given that Rice is only 20.

The youngster is now playing for club and country, meaning he has not received much of a break in recent months.

But Pellegrini insists that Rice won’t be dropped to the bench by West Ham any time soon.

“At 20 years old you do not know if you are tired or not” he said.

“You always want to play. For the moment, Declan must continue playing the games.”

If Rice continues to perform to his current standards at West Ham then his reputation will only continue to increase as the season progresses.

Rice looks set to be in action again this evening, when the Hammers take on Aston Villa.
