The West Ham United winger has been in excellent form this season.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini addressed the media after yesterday’s win over Crystal Palace, and took time to praise Robert Snodgrass, suggesting that he is really pleased for the winger, as quoted by Football.London.
The Chilean had previously criticised the 31-year-old, suggesting that he needed to lose weight before the season started, as quoted by the Metro:
“There were very few words that I spoke with him at the beginning of the season. I gave him some demands about his weight, about his work.”
Snodgrass has proven this season that he is a vitally important player for the Hammers, however, chipping in with three goals and seven assists in 18 appearances in all competitions.
Pellegrini spoke to reporters yesterday, after Snodgrass’s fine goal got West Ham back into the game against Palace, and offered high words of praise for the Scot, as quoted by Football.London:
“Yes, I am very pleased for Robert. He deserved it because he works so hard for all the game, he is absolutely committed with this project and this club and I am very happy for him.”
Snodgrass will have a key role to play for the Hammers this season, what with Andriy Yarmolenko being ruled out until at least March.
The Scotland international was heavily linked with a permanent move to Aston Villa in the summer, and Pellegrini must be absolutely delighted that he kept hold of the winger.
West Ham face Fulham next, and Snodgrass will be hoping to help his team to another important three points.
