Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are waiting to see what happens between Juventus and Manuel Locatelli.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Juventus are planning to hold talks with Sassuolo over the signing of Locatelli in the next few hours.

The Italy international midfielder wants to move to Juve, but Arsenal remain keen on the 23-year-old.

The Gunners have been ready with a bid for weeks, but the North London club are waiting to see what happens between Juventus and Locatelli.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio is also reporting about an imminent meeting between Juventus and Sassuolo, adding that Arsenal are interested.

Following the imminent meeting between the two Italian clubs, Arsenal will get a better idea whether or not they will be able to sign Locatelli.

Could Manuel Locatelli join Arsenal?

Locatelli’s preference might be to join Juventus, but if the former Italian champions are unable to agree on a fee with Sassuolo, then a move will not happen.

Arsenal are a massive club and a global brand, and next season Arteta’s side will be aiming to challenge for the Premier League top four.

The Gunners remain an attractive club to play for.

Following the meeting, the door could open for the Gunners to sign the 23-year-old, who scored four goals and gave two assists in 34 Serie A appearances last season.
