Reported Arsenal target Manuel Locatelli should join Juventus, according to comments from Paolo Rota in Il Bianconero.

Arsenal and Juventus interest

Calciomercato.it reported this month interest from Arsenal and Juventus in Locatelli.

The report claimed that Arsenal have made an offer of €40 million (£34.33 million) to Sassuolo.

TuttoMercatoWeb has reported that Locatelli wants to join former Italian champions Juventus.

Advice for Manuel Locatelli

New Monza scout Rota discovered Locatelli at the age of eight in Pescate, and he has said that the Italy international midfielder should move to Juventus, and not to the Premier League.

Rota told Il Bianconero: “I would tell him to stay in Italy and go to Juve. It’s nice that the top foreign clubs are interested in him, but I think he has already chosen to go to Turin.

“They are certainly a team of his level, because Manuel, as well as being strong on the pitch, is a guy with his head on his shoulders.”

Arsenal or Juventus?

Juventus are arguably the biggest club in Italy and will play in the Champions League next season.

In fact, up until last season, the Bianconeri were dominating Italian football and winning the Serie A title with ease.

Arsenal will not even play in the Europa League next season.

The Gunners are unlikely to challenge for the Premier League title either.

Locatelli will know that not many players get to turn out for Juventus, who will be aiming to reclaim the Scudetto next season and also compete in the Champions League.

The 23-year-old’s former coach Walter De Vecchi told Italy24News last month that Locatelli “looks more and more like Toni Kroos for vision of the game and quality on the pitch”, as we covered here on HITC Sport.
