The West Ham United midfielder is one of the club’s most important players.
West Ham United’s Manuel Lanzini scores
Manuel Lanzini scored an injury time consolation goal for the Hammers last night, during their 2-1 defeat to league leaders Chelsea, and explained how he and his teammates need to bounce back immediately against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The 24-year-old Argentine has played a key role in West Ham’s recent resurgence, but was a long way from his best last night, failing to influence the game in the manner that he would have wanted.
And he spoke to reporters during the aftermath of the game, highlighting the importance of returning to winning ways against the Cherries at the weekend, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“Personally, of course I am happy to have scored a goal, because I always want to score to help my team, but I am even happier if we win the game. We need to work hard in the week and do better in the next match, because that is the only way we can respond to this result. That’s the reality for us.”

Eddie Howe’s men showed how good they are going forward during their 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday, so a win for the Hammers will be far from a foregone conclusion.
But with most of their key men back from injury, and Michail Antonio set to return from suspension, there is good reason for West Ham fans to be confident in their chances of success.
