West Ham United attacking Manuel Lanzini made his long awaited return to Slaven Bilic’s starting line-up last weekend.
Lanzini missed much of the opening of the campaign, after picking up a problematic knee injury.
In Lanzini’s absence, West Ham struggled to find form – with Slaven Bilic admitting his side lacked creativity without their key play maker.
Lanzini made his full return to action in West Ham’s last match, which came against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Although the creator was unable to inspire the Hammers to victory, he played his part in helping the Hammers pick up a credible point with ten men.
And Lanzini is looking forward to finding his rhythm again in the coming weeks.
“It was a very ugly feeling to be injured, to watch the team from the stands and not be able to help,” Lanzini said.
“I am a player who always wants to be on the pitch, who always tries to give his maximum and be at 100 per cent, so not being able to do that was really frustrating.
“I worked very hard to be able to return to my best, because my idea was always to return to the level of performances I had before the injury. I was able to play an almost full match last week in Burnley without problems and things look much better now.”
Lanzini is set to start again for West Ham later this evening, when Bilic’s men take on Brighton & Hove Albion at the London Stadium.
The Hammers go into the encounter as the favourites to pick up the three points, which would lift them up to 15th place in the Premier League table.
