In comments reported by The Scottish Sun, Villarreal star Manu Morlanes has suggested that the atmosphere during their Europa League clash with Rangers will prepare them for their upcoming trip to the Nou Camp, while he also suggested that Allan McGregor was the best player on the pitch on Thursday.

Steven Gerrard’s men have an excellent chance to make the knockout stages of the competition after they secured a point against the La Liga side at Ibrox.

But that point only came after a stunning performance from Gers stopper McGregor. The summer signing made a number of remarkable saves, including two in the first-half which can only be described as world-class.

The atmosphere inside the Scottish Premiership side’s ground was incredible, and Morlanes has suggested that it will stick with him for a long time. He also went on to praise McGregor’s performance in the stalemate.

“The truth is the noise in the stadium was deafening for our players,” he told The Scottish Sun. “It’s the noisiest I have ever heard a football ground.

“But we were the better team by a long way and their keeper was easily the best player on the park. And it’s an experience I will take with me forever. It was great to play on a stage like Ibrox.”

“Now we go to the Nou Camp to play Barcelona and I believe our experience in Glasgow will certainly help us to play in a huge game like this,” he added, in reference to Sunday’s game against the Catalan giants.

The incredibly harsh red card handed to Daniel Candeias certainly seemed to galvanise Rangers. They were facing an extremely tough challenge before the dismissal, but the uphill task that followed made securing a point seem a monumental achievement.

And that display with 10 men will surely do their confidence the world of good heading into the vital game with Rapid Vienna later this month.
