Tyler Walker left Championship outfit Nottingham Forest to join League Two Mansfield Town on loan last summer.

Mansfield Town manager David Flitcroft has hailed Nottingham Forest loanee Tyler Walker after the prolific striker was included in the League Two Team of the Season, as reported by The Chad.
The 22-year-old moved to Mansfield last summer with a point to prove, given that he had failed to really stand out during a series of underwhelming loan spells in the past. Walker scored a combined six league goals in 25 games for Burton Albion, Bolton Wanderers, Stevenage and Port Vale.
But the former England U20 international has really come of age with The Stags, starting to fulfil his potential and scoring 21 goals in all competitions including 17 in the fourth tier of English football.
As a result, Walker was handed a place in the League Two Team of the Season – a well-deserved reward on the back of an exceptional breakthrough campaign. And Flitcroft is understandably thrilled with the progress he has made.
“You wouldn’t want to play against him if you’re a League Two centre half, and he’s proved that all season,” Flitcroft said. “His attitude and application has been first class.

“But I think the biggest thing with Tyler is his commitment to the club and the loan. The lads have embraced him and he’s embraced the lads.
“He’s a player that you want to stay out with on the training ground, teach them and make them better. That’s why they’ve been recognised.”
It remains to be seen whether Walker will be given a fresh start at Nottingham Forest next season. The academy graduate, who is the son of club legend Des, has a contract until 2021 but he is yet to prove that he can score goals at a reliable rate at Championship level.
