The midfielder scored two late penalties for Rotherham as parent-club QPR laboured to a 1-0 defeat at Ewood Park

Queens Park Rangers’ decision to allow Ryan Manning to leave the club on loan this summer split opinion amongst the fans.
The Republic of Ireland U21 international made the switch to fellow Championship side Rotherham United, leaving many back in west London unsure whether the temporary move was a wise decision.
Manning has enjoyed an impressive start for The Millers and will be brimming with confidence after notching twice against Swansea City on Saturday. Although his brace did come from the spot, Manning swung the game in Rotherham’s favour when he was introduced at half-time.
The former Galway man is an important part of Paul Warne’s side, and this is why QPR should consider an early recall. Manager Steve McClaren does have the option of getting Manning back to Loftus Road in January and after the Blackburn Rovers loss Saturday, that decision might be that little bit easier.

QPR’s own good run come to an end after a timid display against Rovers, with Bradley Dack converting a late penalty after a dubious tackle from Josh Scowen saw the referee award the spot kick.
Scowen was filling in for the injured Geoff Cameron and although the latter would be the preferred choice, having Manning back in the squad would maintain the Hoops level of quality in the middle of the park.

The next two or three results will certainly tell a lot about the direction that QPR are going this season, but the possibility of Manning’s early return should be a question that is posed sooner rather than latter.
