HITC understands that Manchester United are working on removing one first team player and his exit is now looking increasingly likely.

Erik ten Hag heads into his third season at Manchester United knowing that a good start is needed following the two week review from Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos as to whether the Dutchman should remain at Old Trafford.

The former Ajax boss was given a stay of execution and the club have already been busy in the market after agreeing personal terms with Jarrad Branthwaite and showing an interest in Joshua Zirkzee.

Player sales will be key for the Red Devils and sources have told HITC that one player looks to be heading towards the exit.

Victor Lindelof’s exit from Man United is looking likely

HITC understands that United are working on moving Swedish defender Victor Lindelof out of Old Trafford this summer.

We had previously reported that the Red Devils were keen on signing two central defenders this summer and were open to offers for Harry Maguire and the Swedish defender Lindelof.

The club are understood to be keen on moving on at least one of these two but would also be open to selling both this summer.

Lindelof was in and out of the United first team last season due to the injury problems that the Red Devils had to deal with and sources confirm that there is interest in the Swedish international.

Jose Mourinho and the Saudi Pro League keen on Lindelof

HITC sources confirm that the Saudi Pro League have had conversations with United and the player about a potential move to the Middle East.

As well as this, we also understand that there is strong interest from Turkey too with former United manager Jose Mourinho, who brought him to the club back in 2017, keen on a reunion at Fenerbahce.

As mentioned, Mourinho brought Lindelof to Old Trafford back in 2017 for a fee in the region of £40 million.

There is an acceptance from those at Old Trafford that they will not get anywhere near this fee but they want to recoup as much as they can for the 29-year-old.
