Marouane Fellaini urges Belgium fans to get behind the team against Russia today.

Belgium will progress to the round of 16 of the 2014 World Cup finals with victory over Russia at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro today.

Marc Wilmots’ side will head into the encounter as Group H leaders with three points from one match.

The Red Devils came from behind to defeat Algeria in their opening game of the tournament last week, while their Sunday opponents Russia drew 1-1 with South Korea.

Marouane Fellaini came on as a second-half substitute to score the equaliser for Belgium at the Estadio Mineirao in Belo Horizonte, and he has now urged the Belgium fans to get behind the team today.

The Manchester United midfielder posted a picture of him and his teammates training on social networking site Twitter and asked the supporters to get behind them against Russia.

Fellaini joined United from Everton for a whooping £27.5 million last summer and was one of the worst signings of the season.

The 26-year-old midfielder failed to make any impact whatsoever for the Red Devils, and there have been reports that new United manager Louis van Gaal may let him go this summer.

However, the former Standard Liege star could make a case for himself if he recovers his form for Belgium in Brazil.
