Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea speaks highly of Manchester City midfielder David Silva.
Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has been singing the praises of Manchester City midfielder David Silva.
The two play together for the Spain national team and are widely recognised as two of the best players in the Premier League.
De Gea and Silva were expected to face each other in the Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, but the latter has been ruled out due to injury.
Former Valencia star Silva is one of the most creative attackers in Europe and is genuinely world class, and De Gea has now explained what makes him so special.
‘He is one of their best players’, the 23-year-old told United’s official website. ‘Everybody knows David Silva is a quality player; he is smart, keeps the ball very well and has the last pass’.
Silva has been an important player for City so far this season. The 28-year-old has scored two goals and provided 22 chances in nine Premier League games, while having a pass accuracy of 87% and a shot accuracy of 56%.
City are currently third in the league table with 17 points from nine matches, while United are four points behind in eighth.
