Manchester United defender Ashley Young has told the Guardian that when he meets up with Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli again there will be no bad blood between the pair.

Young has been called back into the England squad, following his strong form for United at wing-back this season.

And if he continues to be selected for the Three Lions, then it is inevitable that he will come into contact with Spurs midfielder Alli.

Young and Alli clashed during a recent fixture between United and Tottenham, with both players taking digs at each other.

However, Young insists that he he has no problem with Alli whatsoever, and if they are in the same national team, he would welcome playing with the Tottenham man.

“It would be nice to see him,” he said. “Things happen on football pitches. Once the game is finished, you don’t need to talk afterwards. That’s just how it is. He’s a confident player and that gives him that edge.”

Alli is not part of the current England squad, due to an injury problem.

England have friendlies against Germany and Brazil in the coming days, as Gareth Southgate’s men look to sharpen up prior to the World Cup next summer.
