Saturday afternoon sees Manchester United hosting Arsenal at Old Trafford in arguably the biggest game of the weekend.

United are currently sixth in the table after a disappointing start under Jose Mourinho while Arsenal are fourth.

Both are desperate for wins to ensure they can continue to push for the title this season, especially United, who are already eight points behind leaders Liverpool.

All the focus will be on the centre forwards in the game, with questions over Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and heavy debate over who should replace the suspended Zlatan Ibrahimovic for United.

Youngster Marcus Rashford could be given that unenviable task, so how does he compare to the Chilean this season? Here’s what the stats say.

Sanchez has been the bigger threat, posting more shots per game, 2.9 compared to 1.7 and more shots on target per game, 1.2 compared to 0.5.

Rashford does have the better shooting accuracy, with a score of 21% compared to 19% but Sanchez has the better goal tally.

The Chilean has also registered more key passes per game, 2.1 compared to 0.6 and more accurate passes per game, 29.8 compared to 20.1 so far.

That sees him top when it comes to assists, although Rashford is the better of the two for overall passing accuracy.

Nonetheless, a win for Sanchez and Arsenal will be hoping he can come out on top in Saturday’s big game as they seek their first win at Old Trafford in a decade.
