Manchester United are weighing up several late January moves as transfer talks ramp up ahead of the deadline.

As the January transfer window deadline approaches, Manchester United are assessing their options, especially as the club continues to show signs of improvement under caretaker manager Michael Carrick.

Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Emiliano Martinez remain central to renewed speculation as the club balances potential first-team recruitment with outgoing loan decisions.

Manchester United renew Emiliano Martinez interest

Manchester United have once again been linked with Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez as the January window enters its final stages, according to Football Insider.

Aston Villa are believed to have placed a £40 million valuation on Emiliano Martinez, with financial considerations influencing their openness to offers.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is reported to be operating under a sell before buy approach this month as the club looks to manage spending and maintain flexibility.

Emiliano Martinez remains under contract until 2029, while interest from Manchester United and Inter Milan keeps his situation under observation.

Returning loan players set to leave club yet again

Manchester United are also reviewing the futures of several players who have recently returned from loan spells, according to The Sun.

Joe Hugill, Ethan Wheatley, Louis Jackson, Elyh Harrison, Habeeb Ogunneye, and Sonny Aljofree have all rejoined Manchester United and could be moved on again before the deadline.

The priority for the club is to ensure regular senior minutes for the group, with short-term loan solutions viewed as the preferred outcome.

Manchester United’s late window business is therefore expected to focus on squad management alongside any potential first-team additions as the deadline draws closer.
