A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United…
According to a report from the Sunday People Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal will make another attempt to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid this summer.
The Welshman is allegedly now valued at a staggering £95million but it is being claimed that United could be targeting Bale as the ‘surprise’ signing the Dutchman spoke of last week.
United sources have reportedly told the newspaper that Bale remains on their radar, but in truth any move for the former Tottenham Hotspur winger seems highly unlikely at this stage of his career.
In other news, the Daily Star claims United will complete their fifth signing of the summer later today, with Barnsley’s Mason Holgate moving in a £1million deal.
The 18-year-old has been on trial at United for three days and it is being claimed that he has impressed enough to earn a permanent contract.
One for the future he may be, but if true United have signed a player who could one day be a first-team regular.
And finally, United have confirmed on their official website that two young players will spend the first half of next season out on loan.
Ben Pearson and Joe Rothwell have joined Barnsley until 3 January 2016 and for the former it means a return to the side he initially joined on loan last season.
