Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga is reportedly keen on signing for a Bundesliga club amid interest from Borussia Dortmund and a rumoured offer on the table from Everton.
According to TalkSport, the prospect of moving to Germany to play regular football is one that greatly interests Elanga, with the report stating that Dortmund are keeping tabs on the Swedish international who this season has fallen out of favour at United.
Despite being a regular under Ralf Rangnick last season, the arrival of Erik Ten Hag has seen the winger drop to the bench in a supporting role, with Elanga only making seven starts in all competitions, playing just 602 minutes in 18 matches and registering one assist.
With the Daily Mail recently reporting that Everton have made a loan offer to sign Elanga, this latest update that the 20-year-old wants a move to Germany will be a blow to Frank Lampard’s side, with the winger an ideal signing for the Toffees this January.
Sat 19th in the Premier League table, Everton are in need of some firepower this month if they’re to keep their top-flight status in check. And Elanga’s openness to signing for a Bundesliga club amid interest from Dortmund os the last thing the Merseyside club needed.
Indeed, Elanga would have been an ideal addition for the Toffees and another United signing to add to the history books. Yet for the player himself, moving to Germany and most likely Dortmund would be a better career decision than moving to Goodison Park.
Elanga should jump at the chance to sign for Dortmund despite Everton offer
Dortmund are arguably the best club in Europe for any young player to join, and Elanga is no exception to the rule with the United winger in desperate need of a refresh away from Manchester, with a move to Germany perfect for the attacker despite a loan offer from Everton.
After all, the Toffees are in the midst of yet another relegation battle, and whilst Elanga could relish under the pressure of playing for a club looking down into the abyss, signing for Dortmund is just by far and away the better option for the Swedish talent.
