A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United…
It may have been a relatively quiet transfer window for Manchester United and their fans so far, but things could be about to get a lot busier according to reports.
German newspaper Bild reports that Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is on the verge of completing a move to Old Trafford.
The German international has reportedly agreed to a three-year contract worth around £7.2million a year.
That would be quite a coup for United boss Louis van Gaal, who has a great working relationship with the combative midfielder.
The Manchester Evening News claims Schweinsteiger will cost £5.75million; not bad for a player who has excelled at both domestic and international level for many years.
With just a year left on his current contract at Bayern, United could be on the verge of bagging something of a bargain.
In other news, the Daily Star claims United will make it a hat-trick of international signings, with Matteo Darmian set to follow Schweinsteiger and earlier signing Memphis Depay through the door.
The right-back reportedly completed his United medical yesterday and looks set to fly out with the club for their pre-season tour of the USA.
