Weeks and weeks of speculation are over at Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag is set to stay at Old Trafford and take the English and Premier League heavyweights into next season.
HITC confirmed on Tuesday evening that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have decided that the Dutchman is the man going forward.
Manchester United’s end-of-season review concluded that, not only should Erik ten Hag stay, but they have agreed to discuss a new contract.
Agree or disagree. It allows the club to move forward, plan and focus on improving the squad via the summer transfer market.
Manchester United fans will be eager to see who they bring in this summer, but you feel who leaves might be just as important.
One man who won’t be going to Euro 2024 with England after a very poor campaign in front of goal is Marcus Rashford.
The 26-year-old only scored seven Premier League goals and couldn’t argue against Gareth Southgate not selecting him.
And with this ten Hag call, Ray Parlour thinks Rashford will now stay and rekindle a career that has taken another big hit.
The former Arsenal midfielder added that, one of the reasons why Manchester United have probably decided to stick with ten Hag, is because ‘there are not a lot of options’ to replace him, as he told talkSPORT (12/06/24 at 6:10 am).
Marcus Rashford to stay at Manchester United?
“I did think he would stay and I think most Man United fans would have said ‘Let’s give him another chance next season’,” said Parlour. “They had a lot of injuries.”
Alan Brazil then asked: “What players are going to stay then? Because clearly, he doesn’t get, on a regular basis, the best out of players.”
Parlour responded: “Rashford is the one who sticks out the most. He missed out on the Euros and that’s because of his form for Manchester United. It’s a situation where Manchester United have probably looked it at it and thought ‘there are not a lot of options’.”

Marcus Rashford under Erik ten Hag
Two seasons ago, Rashford scored 30 goals in all competitions and helped his side to League Cup glory and a top-four finish.
Yes, Manchester United backed it up this season with FA Cup glory, but Rashford was the shadow of a player for most of the campaign.

You could sell him off and look to invest in younger talent, but many know how well ten Hag and Rahford can work together.
And when it does click, then Manchester United will drive up the table, and at a minimum, look to make a return to the Champions League.
