Stan Collymore has stated on Twitter that if Manchester United were to come in for Aston Villa’s thriving striker, Ollie Watkins, then it would cost ‘£100 million + Rashford’.
Only Manchester City’s goal-crazy striker Erling Haaland has had more goal contributions, since the World Cup, than Ollie Watkins himself.
On Saturday, Unai Emery’s Champions League-chasing Aston Villa smoked Newcastle United 3-0, with Watkins netting a brace – and he could have easily scored more.
It was the 27-year-old’s 14th Premier League goal of the campaign and his 11th in his last 12 matches.
He is in serious form and, with Manchester United looking for a number nine in the summer, some fans were asking the typical transfer questions.
But Collymore was sure to debunk it all by issuing the following response to if Man United came knocking for the Exeter City academy product.

Marcus Rashford and Watkins won’t link up on the domestic stage, but there is every chance they will link-up again for England.
Given the form Watkins is in, he is a player that Gareth Southgate, who was in attendance as Villa beat Newcastle, can’t ignore now.
It can get even better for Watkins because there is every chance he hits 20 goals for the season and helps Villa make a return to Europe.
