The report adds that a release clause of €30 million will be included in the contract, an extremely tempting amount for United, or any interested party.
In fact should Toni Kroos turn out to be a no-go, Pjanic could emerge into a cheaper and credible option.
Pjanic has five goals and six assists this season, and has a pass completion rate in Serie A at 88 per cent.
