One candidate high on their list is Paul Mitchell, who has recently departed Tottenham Hotspur and is available for work.

That wait could be set to pay off.
Manchester United are now claimed to be considering appointing Mitchell, claim the Manchester Evening News.

Rangers are a big club in their own right, but the transfer budgets the two clubs could offer Mitchell are in different stratospheres.
United broke the world record last summer paying £89 million for Paul Pogba. Rangers would be thrilled to pay just one tenth of that on a player nowadays.
Rangers search for a new director of football continues, but it looks unlikely to be Mitchell.
