Manchester United star could miss West Brom tie with back spasm – faces fitness test

Marouane Fellaini – who has recently shown flashes of form – has a back spasm ahead of today’s lunchtime kick-off.

Marouane Fellaini just cannot seem to get a break at the moment. The £27.5 million summer signing from Everton has struggled to cement a place in the Manchester United first-team with his form and fitness the major factors.

However, he recently returned to full fitness after a wrist injury and put in what was surely his best performance yet for United in the win against Crystal Palace.

But in midweek he went a step further.

He was reportedly Belgium’s best player in a 2-2 draw against the Ivory Coast – and he even scored in the game. He rose up above the Ivorian defences in the first half to give Belgium a lead – and the hope was he could now kick on from here.

United face West Brom at The Hawthorns today – and this could have been an opportunity to carry on his momentum into the Premier League.

But he may just miss the game.

It has been revealed that Fellaini suffered a back spasm during midweek – and will need to undergo a fitness test before he gets the all clear to play at lunchtime.

The news was broken by Manchester United’s official Twitter account this morning…

Sorry United fans, looks like the out of sorts Tom Cleverly might be starting…
