Manchester United could bid £15 million to sign Marcel Sabitzer, a player Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on, according to journalist Dean Jones.
Jones has told GiveMeSport that Manchester United will not pay £25 million to make Sabitzer’s loan deal from Bayern Munich permanent in the summer transfer window.
The Austria international midfielder joined the Red Devils on loan from defending Bundesliga champions Bayern in the January transfer window.
Jones has said that former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners United are likely to make an opening bid for £15 million.
The Daily Star reported over the weekend that Bayern will want at least £30 million for Sabitzer in the summer transfer window.
The report claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the 29-year-old at the end of the season.
Aston Villa and West Ham United have also been linked with the Austrian.

Manchester United stance on Tottenham Hotspur target Marcel Sabitzer
Jones said: ”I don’t think it will take £25 million to sign him and from what one contact was saying to me, I reckon United’s opening bid should probably be expected to be around £15 million, something maybe slightly higher than that and then they’ll move on from there.
“It sounds to me like Bayern Munich are quite realistic about what they can get for him and they’d be open-minded about how those negotiations go.”
HITC Verdict: £15m too low
In our view, Manchester United are not going to be able to make Marcel Sabitzer’s loan deal permanent for £15 million, and that will open the door for Tottenham Hotspur to make a move.
If the Red Devils are not ready to pay more than £15 million, then we do not think that Bayern will sell the midfielder to them.
Sabitzer is a very good midfielder who has done well for United during his loan spell so far.
And with clubs such as Tottenham and West Ham interested in the dynamic midfielder, Bayern will surely want more than just £15 million.
