ESPN are reporting this morning that Manchester United are open to selling Daniel James amid reported interest from Leeds United.
The Sun reported on July 24 that United will not let James leave, adding that Leeds are interested in signing the Wales international winger.
However, ESPN are reporting this morning that the Red Devils have made the 23-year-old available for transfer at the right price.
James is among a number of players United are ready to sell this summer, according to the report.
Boost for Leeds United
Leeds have long been linked with James.
The winger was close to joining Leeds from Swansea City in January 2019, as shown in the Amazon documentary ‘Take Us Home’ about the Whites’ 2018-19 season and reported in The Daily Mail.
The Manchester Evening News reported in September 2020 that Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa wanted to sign the youngster last summer.
The Daily Star claimed in December 2020 that West Yorkshire club were interested in signing James in January 2021.
And now, United are ready to sell James, which must be music to the ears of Leeds head coach Bielsa.
The winger is still very young, and given how Bielsa has improved the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Luke Ayling and Patrick Bamford, you would expect the Wales international to get better and develop under the Argentine boss.
The winger made 11 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for United last season.
James scored three goals and gave one assist in those games.
The Welshman played 33 minutes in the Champions League and seven times in the Europa League last season.
