Manchester United reportedly want Mario Mandzukic but would the Juventus forward actually be better suited to Tottenham Hotspur?

Mario Mandzukic has emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United, according to the Express, viewing the Juventus forward as the ideal competition for Romelu Lukaku.
Neither Anthony Martial or Marcus Rashford have convinced manager Jose Mourinho as a number nine as yet and the former is actually likely to leave this summer as a result.

Mourinho would rather have the experience of Mandzukic and is hoping to use Juve’s interest in Matteo Darmian as a makeweight in the deal.

What about Spurs?
While it is the Red Devils who have emerged as candidates to sign the Croatia international, are Tottenham Hotspur actually more in need of a player like him?
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino wants to ease the goalscoring burden on Harry Kane, with Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente having failed to fill the role over the past two years, and have most recently been linked with Alassane Plea of Nice by ESPN as a result.

Yet is Mandzukic actually the better option, especially considering the 32-year-old can also play from the left wing and could therefore operate alongside Kane as well as instead of him?
The attacker’s age may be a concern, as could wage demands, but the experience the Champions League, Bundesliga and Serie A winner would bring to North London could be what Spurs need to take them to the next level.
