Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld is reportedly on the radar of Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

It has also been reported that United have opened talks with Tottenham over the signing of Alderweireld in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils are also interested in Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred and want to sort out a deal before the World Cup starts in Russia in mid-June, according to the report.

Not in Tottenham Hotspur’s interest
It would make sense for United to hammer out a deal with Tottenham regarding Alderweireld as soon as possible, but from Spurs’ perspective, it would be better to wait until the World Cup is over.

After all, if the Belgium international central defender plays well and has a successful campaign, then his price will soar.
Moreover, other major clubs could show interest in the former Atletico Madrid defender if he does well for Belgium in Russia, and that will only increase his value – again, something that would be in Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy’s interest.
