Benfica duo Ruben Dias and Joao Felix are reported targets for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Premier League fallen giants Manchester United.

Joao Felix of SL Benfica celebrates after scoring a goal during the Liga NOS match between SL Benfica and Vitoria FC at Estadio da Luz on April 14, 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal.

Manchester United sent their chief scout to watch Benfica duo Ruben Dias and Joao Felix on Sunday, according to O Jogo.

The young duo have gone from strength to strength at the Estadio da Luz this season and impressed once again as Benfica moved one step closer to regaining the Primeira Liga title with a 4-1 thrashing of high-flying Braga at the weekend.

Dias, a Portuguese international centre-back, scored one of his side’s goals while Felix, the dazzling little playmaker who has been compared with the likes of Kaka and Manuel Rui Costa, was unsurprisingly at the heart of a superb away win.

Felix, who has a £105 million release clause in his contract, has scored 18 goals and produced 11 assists in his first season in Benfica’s first team. It is worth remembering that he only turned 19 in November.

And, according to O Jogo, Manchester United are stepping up their interest in both Dias and Felix ahead of what is expected to be a big summer overhaul. Marcel Bout, the club’s Head of Global Scouting, watched both players in action on Sunday.

The Mail reported in March that United would have to pay around £155 million to bring Dias (below) and Felix to Old Trafford.
