Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings was involved in an alleged stamp against Reading on Saturday and Manchester United fans have reacted.

Manchester United fans on Twitter have hit out at Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings following his alleged stamp on Reading striker Nelson Oliveria at the weekend

The 25-year-old was alleged to have stamped on the face of Oliveria during Villa’s goalless draw at the Madjeski Stadium [BBC Sport], which left his opponent with deep facial cuts.

As reported by BBC Sport, the 25-year-old will not face any actions because the officials on the day saw the incident and therefore can’t punish him if they wish.

But the interest of United supporters comes into this because, unfortunately for Mings, he has been under this spotlight in his career before.

In 2017, when he was at Bournemouth, the central-defender was banned for five games for his alleged stamp on the head of then-Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as reported by BBC Sport.

Therefore, it isn’t a surprise to hear some of those same fans airing their views on Mings on social media when the footage from the weekend emerged.

Nonetheless, some United fans on Twitter seriously let rip at the Villa man, who will be preparing for his side’s Championship fixture against Sheffield United on Friday.

Here is a selection of some Manchester United fans on Twitter offering their thoughts on Tyrone Mings’ ‘stamp’:

During his career, Mings has represented Ipswich Town, he has also played under Eddie Howe at Bournemouth and he now finds himself at Villa in the second tier of English football.

Dean Smith’s side, who are vying for promotion to the Premier League, secured their first clean sheet of 2019 at the weekend as they will be hoping to add to that tally on Friday.
