Erik ten Hag has been mocked by Piers Morgan after a statistic about the Manchester United boss emerged on Twitter.
The 58-year-old posted laughing emojis on his personal Twitter account after Jose Enrique made an interesting comparison between the Dutchman and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Piers Morgan mocks Erik ten Hag
Well, Enrique – who made his name at Newcastle and then Liverpool – mentioned that Ten Hag has already lost more Premier League games this season than Solskjaer did in each of his two campaigns at Old Trafford.
The Norwegian – who was labelled a PE teacher by some while holding the reins at Manchester United – suffered eight defeats in the 2019/20 season, before losing just six games in the 2020/21 campaign.
So far this season, Ten Hag has tasted defeat on nine occasions.
After learning of that statistic, Morgan wrote: “Ten Hag thinks he’s the new Sir Alex… but he’s not even the new Ole.”

What Morgan hasn’t acknowledged is the fact that Ten Hag has already won a trophy for Manchester United, something Solskjaer failed to do in his two seasons at Old Trafford.
Therefore, a few more losses than the 50-year-old in his debut campaign in charge of Manchester United surely won’t bother the Dutch tactician one bit.
Piers Morgan criticism of Erik ten Hag carries little context
In our view, the numbers Morgan refers to do not paint the full picture.
For a start, Ten Hag had never previously managed – or played – in English football, whereas Solskjaer spent many years at Old Trafford during his playing career, before managing Cardiff and then the Red Devils.
Therefore, this year has been a period of acclimatisation for Ten Hag in a completely new environment, making his role that little bit tougher.
With that in mind, it has been a successful debut season for the £173,076-a-week man as the Carabao Cup was secured in February, while he should also qualify for the Champions League barring a complete collapse in the final four games.
