A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United…

According to a report from the London Evening Standard, Manchester United are currently negotiating a potential new deal with their goalkeeper David de Gea.

The newspaper has published comments from the Spanish international’s agent Jorge Mendes following an interview he gave with radio station Cadena Ser.

In it Mendes said, “We’re holding talks and at this moment it seems he could continue with United, but as I say, we haven’t signed anything yet.”

De Gea was again in fine form as United came from behind to draw with West Ham United on Sunday.

With his current contract expiring in the summer of 2016, United’s hierarchy and supporters alike will surely be hoping to tie such a talent to the club for the long term.

In other news, the Sun reports that United can sign Dani Alves on a free transfer if they offer him a three-year deal.

The Brazilian international’s contract with Barcelona expires at the end of the season, and the latest report claims Louis van Gaal could bring in the experienced right-back if they are prepared to commit to him for the next three campaigns.
