A round up of news stories this morning related to Manchester United.
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has claimed in the Independent that Gareth Bale would be a perfect fit for the club.
United have been linked with a second attempt to try and sign Bale after they failed to prevent his original move to Real Madrid.
He’s thought to be growing disillusioned with his situation in Spain after tension with Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I always felt that Bale was a natural fit for United as he developed at Tottenham from a left-back into one of the best attacking footballers,” wrote Scholes.
Scholes has also suggested in the same paper, that he finds it amazing old teammate Michael Carrick doesn’t have more caps for England.
Carrick has been one of United’s most consistent players in the recent past, but he’s struggled to get regular opportunities for his country.
He’s set to feature in both of England’s upcoming games against Lithuania and Italy.
“It is incredible to think that he has one fewer than Danny Welbeck on 32,” wrote Scholes.
The Metro has claimed that Manchester United have entered the race to sign Theo Walcott from Arsenal.
Walcott is thought to be at odds with the Gunners over a new contract, with United seemingly poised to take advantage.
The paper claims that Walcott wants an improvement on his current contract, which is worth around £90,000 per week.
