Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has told BBC Live’s coverage of Arsenal beating Manchester United 3-2 that Arsenal deserve to be at the top of the Premier League table right now – after Eddie Nketiah nabbed a late winner.
Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table with the win. A game in hand over Manchester City, Arsenal are looking good for the Premier League title at this stage of the season. They keep on winning matches.
Bukayo Saka, Nketiah, Martin Odegaard, Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey, William Saliba, Aaron Ramsdale and plenty of other Arsenal stars are in the form of their life. That form will need to continue to see off Manchester City’s challenge.
Speaking about Arsenal after the 3-2 loss, England defender Shaw was full of praise. He says Arsenal deserve where they are in the Premier League with the form they are currently showing. He lauded the speed in which Arsenal play.

“Always coming to the Emirates, they start really fast. You have to give them credit for what they have done this season. They deserve to be at the top with how they are playing,” Shaw said after the match, on BBC Live’s coverage.
Shaw: Arsenal deserve to be at the top of the Premier League table
So, can Arsenal maintain their brilliant start to the Premier League campaign? Past seasons have taught us that often, Arsenal do struggle in the second half. The Gunners were really poor last season, allowing Tottenham to finish fourth.
The Gunners are in Europe and squad rotation is crucial. But, the benefit Arsenal have of being in the Europa League – instead of the Champions League – could help. It will allow them to completely rest their best players midweek.
The signings of Jakub Kiwior and Leandro Trossard will allow the likes of Bukayo Saka or Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel or William Saliba to rest. Champions League sides like City, Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool will need to play their best.
