Manchester United are at short odds to re-sign Michael Keane from Burnley.

Bookies SkyBet are offering odds of just 5/1 that Manchester United re-sign centre-back Michael Keane.

Keane’s excellent performances for Burnley over the past two seasons have seen him called into the England squad, after leaving Old Trafford in 2014.

SkyBet price United at 5/1 to sign Keane before the January transfer window closes, with Chelsea priced as second favourites at 7/1. Liverpool follow at 10/1.

Keane was sold by former United boss in 2014 early into the Dutchman’s reign.

His transfer was particularly unfortunate for United, as shortly after he was sold, they suffered an injury crisis and tried out players who were behind Keane in the pecking order at the club prior to his departure, Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair.

Neither player were able to establish themselves, while Keane has gone on to prove himself.

Just a fortnight ago he starred at Old Trafford along with fellow ex-Red Devils trainee, goalkeeper Tom Heaton, as they secured a 0-0 draw much to the frustration of the home side.

Now with United’s injury trouble exposed in recent weeks, and Eric Bailly nursing an injury, perhaps Jose Mourinho liked what he saw, and is considering whether to give Keane a Pogba-esque return.
