Oliver, not Fernando, is the man the Old Trafford club are linked with.
So who is Oliver Torres?
He is the latest name to be linked with a move to Old Trafford, and plays for Atletico Madrid.
He is a member of Spain’s under-19 side, and is a midfielder, rather than a striker like his namesake Fernando.
Two reports here and here link him to United, claiming he was watched by Sir Alex Ferguson’s brother and scout Martin Ferguson.
Whether there is any truth in it, time will tell, but United are in need of revamping their midfield, considering their two most reliable performers are the ageing yet remarkable Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.
As he is yet to break into the Atletico first team, Torres would be a gamble, but that would also mean he may come cheaply, compared to David de Gea, signed from the same side for £20 million.
Torres played in Manchester in a youth tournament last summer and it believed that is when he was first identified as a target.
United fans will expect more than just Torres in the summer though, as well as young stars they will want established midfielders, such as Christian Eriksen or Cheik Tiote.
Can they afford or attract them? That is another question, United will do business this summer, but for now are keeping their cards close to their chest.
Here is a video of Torres in action for Atletico’s youth side:
