Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle are all keen to bring Jean-Clair Todibo to the Premier League this summer.

Fabrizio Romano believes the trio of English giants have sent scouts to watch the Frenchman in action for OGC Nice this season, and an exit is possible once the 2022/23 campaign is over.

The reliable Italian journalist adds that Jean-Clair Todibo has a price tag of €45m (£39m).

What’s the story?

Well, if Todibo does end up joining one of the Premier League‘s leading sides, Barcelona would feel quite foolish.

The Spanish giants sold the centre-back to OGC Nice for just €8.5m (£7.4m) back in 2021 after handing him just five games to showcase his talents.

Now, Todibo – who once rejected a move to Fulham – looks set to move for over five times that amount.

Romano wrote on Twitter: “Understand Newcastle, Manchester Utd and Liverpool scouts were in attendance at Nice-Rennes game to monitor Jean Clair Todibo. French centre-back could get top club move in the summer with price tag understood to be around €45m (£39m).

Todibo has impressed at OGC Nice this season, making 42 appearances in all competitions while also helping the French side concede the second-fewest goals in Ligue 1 this term (32) behind RC Lens.

Todibo should choose Manchester United over Liverpool or Newcastle

In our view, Todibo would have the best chance of success if he moved to Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag’s centre-back department is not exactly the strongest area, with Luke Shaw needing to play in the middle of defence a lot this season due to doubts over Harry Maguire and a serious injury to Lisandro Martinez.

Therefore, we would imagine that Todibo would see plenty of action.

Contrastingly, Liverpool are settled with Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate in defence, while Jürgen Klopp has Joel Matip and Joe Gomez to call upon as backup options.

Newcastle also have a strong centre-back department, as Sven Botman, Fabian Schar, Dan Burn and Jamaal Lascelles are available to Eddie Howe.

Be sure to keep an eye on Todibo’s situation, as he could soon be heading to the Premier League.
