Erik ten Hag believes Liverpool target Jude Bellingham can become a Manchester United captain if he moves to Old Trafford.

That’s according to The Telegraph, who claim that Manchester United are now right in the race to sign Bellingham.

It’s stated that whilst some in football believe Bellingham is heading to join Liverpool this summer, other clubs don’t agree with that notion.

Those rival clubs seemingly believe that the race is still wide open for Bellingham.

Manchester United are now allegedly ready to make a firm push for Bellingham in the hope of an incredible transfer heist.

It’s stated that United boss Erik ten Hag believes Bellingham could be a ‘generational talent’ and could become United captain one day.

The Red Devils may well dangle that armband plan to Bellingham in the hope of luring him to Old Trafford this summer.

Liverpool face major battle for Jude Bellingham

Bellingham has been linked with Liverpool for so long now, even going back to last summer.

The belief was that Liverpool were scaling back their spending plans in order to go all out for Bellingham in 2023.

Yet any confidence in actually signing Bellingham must be dwindling for Reds fans.

Liverpool are out of the Champions League after Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat at Real Madrid and their top four hopes are fading.

Convincing a top talent like Bellingham to join without Champions League football may be difficult and even United could be a threat now – something fans couldn’t have expected last summer.

United look fairly safe in the top four, they have won the EFL Cup and are looking like a strong contender for the Europa League crown.

Ten Hag appears to be turning United around – even with a 7-0 defeat at Liverpool – and they could pose a real problem for the Reds in the battle for Bellingham.
