Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are top of the Premier League table and 18 points ahead of Manchester United.

Manchester United Rio Ferdinand has aimed a rather sly dig at Liverpool’s fans as Jurgen Klopp’s side eye the first Premier League title in their history, speaking to The Mirror.
It has been a fabulous season so far for The Reds, who are still in with a great chance of winning England’s top flight for the first time in three decades.
Klopp’s team are also into the quarter-finals of the Champions League and are clear favourites to reach the final four given that they take on one of the competition’s so-called ‘weaker’ sides – FC Porto.
In contrast, Manchester United have endured another difficult campaign although interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has brought a feeling of optimism back to Old Trafford after the insidious regime of Jose Mourinho came to a merciful end in December.
And perhaps it is this frustration that has tempted Ferdinand into having a pop at Liverpool supporters in an interview with The Mirror.

“There’s fans I didn’t even know supported Liverpool that have come back out of the wood work after 20 years of being silent that are starting to speak before they’ve won anything,” said the former England captain, who scored a late winner for United against Liverpool in 2006.
“So it’d be a lot more painful to see them win the league [over Man City]. But listen, the best team will win it and whoever that is well done.”
There is certainly a feel good factor around Anfield right now and who can blame them. Since the turn of the century, Liverpool have barely even put together a convincing title challenge but Klopp has got fans dreaming for the first time since their 2013/14 season fell apart under Brendan Rodgers.
