Manchester United get boost as Patrick Herrmann speaks of frustration

Patrick Herrmann set an unwanted Bundesliga record at the weekend.

Manchester United’s pursuit of Toni Kroos is well documented, but he is not the only German the Red Devils are keen on.

In January The Telegraph reported that manager David Moyes was making a personal scouting mission to watch Patrick Herrmann in action.

The 23-year-old is a right winger who plays for Borussia Moenchengladbach and has four goals and eight assists this season.

A former German under-21 regular, Herrmann has been tipped to soon make his breakthrough into the senior international squad.

United may have been given an avenue to pursue in their courting of Herrmann, after the winger set an unwanted record at the weekend.

Herrmann was substituted for the 26th time this season, more than any player has ever been in more than 50 years in Germany’s top flight.

Fussball.de report Herrmann’s frustration, after the game when told about the record, when he responded: “I do not think that I was 26 times bad. Nevertheless, I hope that I’m playing again soon 90 minutes.”

Asked if he expected his record to be extended further this season, he told reporters to ‘ask somebody else.’

Herrmann is an exciting talent who has previously been linked to Tottenham also, and rated at £10 million he would be a potential bargain. What’s more is that his eight assists out-perform the rest of United’s wide players combined this campaign.
