Row began between player and pundit with Leicester City ace taking dig at Liverpool legend for wearing Everton kit.

Leicester City defender Danny Simpson has mocked Jamie Carragher’s failure to win a Premier League medal with Liverpool.

The row began when Simpson criticised the Liverpool legend for being pictured wearing an Everton kit.

Simpson compared him with ex Manchester United legend Gary Neville, saying Carragher’s Sky Sports colleague would never be pictured in a rival shirt.

Carragher did not take too kindly to the criticism, questioning why the Foxes suddenly raised their game after Claudio Ranieri’s sacking.

This sparked Simpson taking a dig at Carragher’s failing to ever win the title, a feat he accomplished last season.

Simpson began his career with Manchester United, and fans of the Red Devils will have enjoyed seeing the right-back take a pop at their former rival.

Carragher, reeling at this point, questioned whether Simpson was a ‘joke player’ at Manchester United who bragged about previously winning the league too while at Old Trafford.

He attempted to move the conversation on to ask if Simpson played a key part in getting Ranieri sacked by going to the owner after the defeat to Sevilla last week.

Simpson responded by posting a picture alongside former United youth colleague Danny Drinkwater, both lifting the Premier League trophy with Leicester last season.
