Some Manchester United fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking the club with Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

What’s the story?

According to Calciomercato, United are interested in signing Ndombele from Tottenham.

The Italian news outlet have claimed that the Red Devils are looking at the midfielder as a potential replacement for French compatriot Paul Pogba.

Pogba is out of contract at United next summer, and talks over a new deal are going on.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are looking at potential replacements in case the Pogba decides to leave on a free at the end of the season.

AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie is a player United are looking at to replace Pogba, according to the report in Calciomercato, which has added that Spurs midfielder Ndombele is also on the list of players the Red Devils want.

What are Manchester United fans saying?

As you can see from the tweets below, United fans on Twitter are divided over the prospect of signing Ndombele.

The midfielder has had a mixed spell at Spurs so far, and, according to a report in The London Evening Standard this month, told the North London club that he wanted to leave in the summer transfer window.

If the 24-year-old does not do well this season, then Spurs could decide to cash in on him next summer.

However, it is very likely that United will have to pay a lot to sign the midfielder.

After all, Spurs paid £53.8 million to Lyon to sign the Frenchman in the summer of 2019, as reported by BBC Sport, and they are unlikely to sell for a big loss.

Ndombele has scored five goals in 55 Premier League appearances so far in his career.
