The Manchester United defender was finally back in action after a long injury layoff.
Manchester United got back to winning ways in fine style this weekend, overcoming Swansea City 3-1 at the Liberty Stadium courtesy of goals from Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Swede’s brace emphatically answered his critics while Pogba’s goal was of the highest calibre, going some way to justifying his world-record price tag.
United conceded a late goal but they held firm to get a vital three points on the board before the latest international break, with Phil Jones returning to action following a long-term injury absence.
The defender was one of England’s best rated young defenders when he arrived at Old Trafford, with some fans comparing him to Duncan Edwards. However the intervening years have not been kind to him and he will now be looking to make up for lost time.
