Manchester United continued their top-four challenge with a 2-0 victory away to Burnley this weekend.
Goals from Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney gave United a comfortable win, easing the pressure on a club that will have to make do without top-scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the rest of the campaign.
United were strong throughout, once again implementing manager Jose Mourinho’s pre-match plan to perfection, with the defence ensuring goalkeeper David de Gea had a hazard-free afternoon.
While Eric Bailly and Daley Blind were outstanding in the heart of United’s defence, full-back Matteo Darmian continued his efforts to stake a claim to be a first-choice next season.
With Marcos Rojo injured and Blind playing centrally, Darmian was picked on the left ahead of Luke Shaw and the Italian did not disappoint.
Some United fans are yet to be won over by the player, however he rarely puts a foot wrong and is clearly trusted by Mourinho.
